Frequently asked questions
What should I wear?
Clients remain fully clothed during reiki, just removing shoes if choosing to lie down, for comfort. Wear whatever you like that you feel comfortable in.
Are there any conditions which mean I shouldn’t receive Reiki?
There are no contra-indications with Reiki and it can be used in all circumstances. In certain conditions (e.g. pregnancy, limited mobility) you may find it more comfortable to lie on your side or sit in a chair. Reiki is for you, a force for good, so if you feel drawn to it, trust your intuition. Similarly if it doesn’t feel right for you at this time, trust your own judgement. I am happy to answer any questions.
What will I experience?
The most usual experience is that you will feel deeply relaxed while having the treatment, and this in itself is part of the enabling of your own body’s natural self-healing systems to activate. Some people find that the energy is felt as heat, from my hands or in their body. Some people may feel emotions arising, or sometimes pain in the body where a pre-existing condition is being affected by the energy. There is no set or guaranteed outcome or experience as each individual is unique. It’s recommended to drink water immediately after a treatment and to stay hydrated for the next few days. Reiki will be working for up to 3 days after the treatment.
How do I book a session?
Simply email or WhatsApp me, or use this contact form, and I will be in touch to find a time that is suitable for you. Once we’ve identified a time, I’ll send you a simple information and consent form to link to, and directions to find me/a link for a remote appointment.
What is your cancelation policy?
Cancellations made 48 hours before your session can be rescheduled at no extra cost. Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice or no-shows are non-refundable, as the space and time are reserved for you and cannot always be filled last minute. Thank you for honouring both your time and mine. Full terms and conditions are available here.
